While eating, our attention should not be focused just on the taste. Imagine our chosen deity or guru is present within us and that we are feeding Him. This will turn eating into a spiritual practice.
If we are not able to fix the Lord firmly in our hearts, even a lifetime of temple-going does not do us any good.
Children, we must cultivate reverence towards all great masters, monks and gurus.
Try to spend at least 2 or 3 days every month in an ashram. Just breathing the pure air there will purify and strengthen our bodies and minds. Like recharging the batteries, even after returning home we will be able to continue our meditation and japa.
Children, meditation is not just sitting with our eyes closed. We should take every action as worship. We should be able to experience His presence everywhere.
Whatever is associated with the mind is bound to change. The truth is that which is changeless. It is the Self.
One who goes after the taste of the tongue does not get to know the taste of the heart.
When we come to know who we truly are, we will see ourselves in all people.
Children, if we can do archana of the 1000 Names of the Divine Mother daily with devotion, we will grow spiritually. There will never be lack of life’s essentials, food and clothing, in a family that chants the 1000 Names with devotion.
The mental disposition of the one who prepares the food is transmitted to all those who consume it. Therefore, as far as possible the mothers should do the cooking for the entire family. If it is done while chanting the mantra, the food will benefit everyone in a spiritual way.
We should learn to love everyone equally, because in essence we are all one, one Atman, one soul.
Love is our true essence.
We should fill the syllabuses of schools with lessons about love and compassion.
Parents need to nourish spiritual values in their children from a very young age.
Feel your prayers, feel your mantra and you will feel God.
Children, we cannot control our mind without controlling our desire for taste. The health aspect, not the taste, should be the prime criteria in choosing the food. We cannot relish the blossoming of the heart without foregoing the taste of the tongue.
We human beings are born in ego, live in ego, are brought up in ego and will die in ego. We need a certain degree 0f vision when we live in this world for achieving and attaining our goals in life.
Children, even if we lose a million dollars, we can recover it. If we lose one second, we cannot get it back. Every moment that we are not remembering God is lost to us.
